Her debut film ‘Jannat’ opposite Emraan Hashmi did fairly well at the box office and the girl definitely made her presence felt with the film. Talking about tall and sexy Sonal Chauhan not much has been on from her side post ‘Jannat’.
Now, Sonal is all set to win the hearts of her fans with her performance where she will be seen sharing the stage and performing alongside internationally acclaimed rockstar Bryan Adams at a gala event in January next year. The entire show has been organized by a leading jewellery company and this is the first time a mainstream Bollywood actress would be seen performing alongside a top international rockstar.
Do we need to mention here how excited Sonal is about performing with international star Bryan Adams?
I personally think that the makers of the trendsetting DILWALE DULAHNIYA LE JAAENGE and the radical MOHABBATEIN failed to woo the audience in DRONA and KIDNAP.
It is but obvious that we are referring to the first look of the Aditya Chopra directed, Shah Rukh Khan starrer RAB NE BANA DI JODI that is shining the walls of many theatres and multiplexes. Not content with that, Yash Raj Films have also taken full page ads in Sunday’s National dailies, both in English and the Vernacular.
After Duplicate and Om Shanti Om it's now Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi which will see Shah Rukh in a double role. According to sources, SRK will be seen in not one but two different avatars in Aditya Chopra's much-awaited film. The film sees Aditya Chopra making a come back after eight long years.
The poster shows a mustached, bespectacled middle class get up for Shah Rukh (Amol Palekar CHITCHOR looks?) with Anushka in a typical Punjabi salwar–suit peeping from behind Shah Rukh’s shoulders. The poster carries a very interesting and arresting tagline, both in Hindi and English.
The Hindi tagline goes like ”Har saadhaaran jodi mein ek asaadhaaran prem kahani chhupi hoti hai” And the English tagline is ”There is an extraordinary love story in every ordinary jodi”
Well, after seeing the buzz that the first poster is creating, one does not have to be a Nostradamus to predict the big opening when the film hits the screens worldwide on December 12.
If people were to throng the theatres with full aspirations, I would say that they are right, atleast for this one. Shot in premier and typical Yash Raj type locations... it sure is the time SRK gets his King Image back which rules the Bollywood empire back in DDLJ and KKHH time.

Its very close between the two megastars but Akshay has the advantage now. If RNBDJ scores as expected then Shahrukh would remain at the top but to sustain this he will have to increase his workload which has come down to one film a year from 2-3 films a few years back.
Basically if Akshay’s popularity remains and he continues to work as much as he is doing now and selects films as well as he is doing now then its only a matter time before he is at the top. Akshay is going to have 3-4 releases a year for the next few years while SRK looks like having one this year, one next year and two in 2010. Salman Khan is another guy who has a huge universal following and can put a spanner in the works as he can score 3-4 big hits in the next 8-10 months.
Its hard to say who exactly will reign but the best bet would be Akshay because SRK’s one big hit a year will not be enough as things stand today, two or three big hits is a different story but that can’t happen. Shahrukh also faced a huge challenge from Hrithik in 2006 but here Hrithik cut down on his workload and the challenge did not materialize but this will not happen with Akshay who will continue to have many releases.
What is Special About RNBDJ RAb Ne Banaa Di Jodi ?
Aditya Chopra on behalf of YRF films has assured multiplexes that they will not charge more than 50%, 40% 30% in the first three weeks for all films made by the banner this year.
Aditya Chopra however made an exception in the case of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi which he is directing himself. He clearly stated that the terms for that film would have to be higher than the other films. He also said that if any of the other Yash Raj films did exceptional business, the multiplex chains would have to up the sharing ratio after the first week.
In defence of his demand, he said its a give and take relationship and Yash Raj film had voluntarily refunded money to multiplex chains last year when Jhoom Barabar Jhoom and Laaga Chunari Mein Daag bombed at the box office.

Is RAB NE BANA DI JODI | RNBDJ a Story about a dancer?
Top choreographer Shiamak Davar has a long association with Yash Chopra and his banner, Yash Raj Films. One can remember his superb choreography in ‘Le gayee le gayee’ (DIL TO PAGAL HAI), way back in 1997. Some of his subsequent projects with Yash Raj include BUNTY AUR BABLI (2005) and DHOOM 2 (2006).
Shiamak is presently involved in one of the most prestigious projects of recent times, Aditya Chopra’s Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Vinay Pathak starrer, RAB NE BANA DI JODI (RNBDJ). However, he has just not restricted himself to Bollywood and is also busy with other non Bollywood projects, including a hot dance routine for the upcoming 2010 Winter Olympics. He is also a frequent globe-trotter and during one such foreign trips (Vancouver, to be precise), he was asked about the storyline of RNBDJ. The guarded choreographer said that the film is about a dancer and apologized saying that he was sworn to secrecy and so would not be able to disclose anything further.
Well, it seems like we will have to wait for December 12 to decipher what exactly Shiamak means; though another section of the media terms RAB NE BANA DI JODI as a romantic comedy.

Aamir Khan’s long-in-the-making Ghajini has now been further pushed back by two months. The film was initially supposed to hit cinemas by October 3 but will now release on December 12, the same date as Aditya Chopra’s much talked about Rab Ne Banaa Di Jodi, which stars Shah Rukh Khan.
An industry insider reveals, “Aamir Khan’s film has been in the making for over two years now. But it’s far from being complete. Aamir has only recently shaved his head off for the film but he couldn’t complete the schedule as he pulled his hamstring during shooting and was advised complete bed rest for five weeks, which added to the delay. Initially, the film was to be make it to theatres by October and clash with Salman Khan’s Wanted Dead Or Alive. But now because of the delay, the film has finally been pushed to December 12 where Aamir will clash with another Khan: Shah Rukh Khan in Aditya Chopra’s Rab Ne Banaa Di Jodi.”
Adding fuel to feud
The source further adds, “Aamir was very keen on releasing Ghajini in December. Last year, Taare Zameen Par was released around the same time. The actor is superstitious about the timing.”
Industry insiders feel that Aamir is just adding more fuel to his supposed feud with Shah Rukh Khan, “Didn’t he just make a dig at Shah Rukh recently on his blog? And now, he’s getting his release date pushed to clash with Shah Rukh. Whatever happens it is going to generate a lot of curiosity for both the projects.”

Well, that Aishwarya Rai has been paired against south superstar Rajnikanth in ‘Robot’ is all too stale now. The film was initially to star SRK nonetheless. But due to ‘creative differences’, he opted out of the film. Not just that, SRK reportedly also registered all the names that sounds even remotely like ‘Robots’. The news is that now Shankar has renamed the film as ‘Enthiram’.
Recently, Rajnikanth and Ash shot a song for the film at the UNESCO declared world famous heritage site Machu Pichhu. Shankar also plans to shoot for the film at exotic locations of Peru, South America etc. The music director of the film is A R Rahman and boasts of having ace cameraman Rathnavelu in the team as well.
While Mary E Vogt, the well known designer who has worked in Hollywood movies like Men in Black, Batman Returns and Inspector Gadget will be designing the scientific outfits for the sci-fi movie, the animatronics of the film will be handled by the Stan Winston Studio (USA), which was responsible for the impressive animation sequences in movies such as Predator, Jurassic Park, Pearl Harbor, Iron man and the Terminator. The visual effects and animatronics co-ordination will be done by Indian Artiste.

It took ten days to shoot this song with the Goan flavour shot in an expensive set specially erected to recreate Goa in Mumbai. ?
