'Dostana' a complete beach film: Priyanka Chopra

Saturday, November 8, 2008

Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham was like a vacation and a rejuvenating experience for her.

Entirely shot in Miami, Florida, 'Dostana' comes as a breather for the actress whose flagging career was given a new lease of life with 'Fashion' after a series of duds - 'Love Story 2050', 'God Tussi Great Ho', 'Chamku' and 'Drona'.

"'Dostana' was like a vacation. It was so much fun. We were in Miami for two months and I was so fresh and rested when I came back. It was like a really relaxed outdoor and (I had a) great time because everybody got along well with each other," Priyanka said.
Produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the romantic comedy will release on Nov 14.

Priyanka plays a fashion journalist who shares her apartment with Abhishek and John. The two dupe her to rent her apartment on the pretext of being a gay couple.
"John, Abhishek and I are best friends in the film who do everything together. It's a romantic comedy and a fun film about what happens in their lives," the actress said.

Asked if she had any apprehensions working with a debutant director, specially after a string of flops this year, Priyanka said: "Tarun is a fabulous friend of mine and an incredible director. When I first met him, I was a little scared.
"I am a kind of person who asks a lot of questions. I test directors. I like asking and Tarun knew the answer to every question I asked. He blew my mind with his confidence and the commitment he had towards the film. By the end of the film, he's become a really close friend of mine and I admire him as a filmmaker."

The former Miss World also says: "I definitely want to try singing. I might start with, maybe, a song in one of my films but I'm not sure when. But I definitely want to do it."
The actress said she admired the blogging rage among celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan and Ram Gopal Varma, but added that she couldn't take to it due to lack of time.
"It's such a great way to get closer to your fans. But I don't know how they find time to blog because I hardly sleep for more than four hours. I really want to do it at some point because Karan (Johar) was also telling me it's great... may be in a while when my schedule eases a little bit.

"I've had six releases this year, so it's been insane for me."
Priyanka is currently shooting for Vishal Bharadwaj's 'Kaminay' and Ashutosh Gowariker's 'What's Your Raashee', which she calls a "very complicated and difficult romantic comedy".
She also has sequels to Farhan Akhtar's 'Don - The Chase Begins Again' and Goldie Behl's 'Drona', apart from an item number opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Priyadarshan's 'Billo Barber'

Thursday, October 9, 2008

Sharman Joshi is playing a call centre executive in Atul Agnihotri’s forthcoming film ‘Hello’ which has been based on Chetan Bhagat’s book ‘One Night At The Call Centre’. In the movie, Sharman plays the role of Shyam Mehra, a call centre executive. He is on the point of losing his girlfriend because his career is going nowhere. Gul Panag is his love interest, Priyanka.

There’s a lot of buzz about the chemistry between Sharman and his co-star Gul Panag. As described in the novel there’s a steamy scene in the film too. When asked about the love making scene Sharman said, “Well the shooting experience was fabulous. Every one has really worked hard on this film. I have a love making scene with Gul Panag, it was sensuous but at the same time it was very funny.”

However, Censor Board has ordered the chopping of this scene from the film because it has actress Gul Panag mouthing the usage of ‘condom’. Here Gul asks Sharman whether he is carrying a condom before they have sex. Gul is very annoyes with this decision of the Censor Board and she is planning to write a letter to the Censor officials about this absurd decision on their part.

Yet another Hollywood star in ‘Kambakth Ishq’

Monday, October 6, 2008

Sajid Nadiadwala is hell bent on making his ‘Kambakth Ishq’ spicy enough with all the Hollywoodi masala. That this Akhay Kumar-Kareena Kapoor starrer will have Sylvestor Stallone and hottie Densie Richards sharing screen space with the actors is stale by now, What is new is that Sajid has managed to rope in even Brandon Routh to play a role in his film. If the name does not ring a bell, let us tell you that Brandon is the one who played the role of Superman in the latest ‘Superman’ film Superman Returns.

Brandon has already shot an extensive action sequence for ‘Kambakth Ishq’ with Khiladi Akshay Kumar. The shot involved them to jump from a height of a tall building and Akshay has done the shot himself without the use of any duplicate. Even Brandon was impressed to see Akshay’s ease with the stunts.

Akshay and the ‘Superman Returns’ star even exchanged tips on fitness, action, and martial arts. So this is how Bollywood meets Hollywood with ‘Kambakth Ishq’

Adah Sharma speaks about herself

Saturday, October 4, 2008

Since the time Adah Sharma got a break in Vikram Bhatt’s ‘1920’ there have been weird rumours about her and Vikram Bhatt too, but Adah laughs all of them off. The first rumour was that Adah is short of hearing and one had to repeat things for her as she could not get things in one go.

Brushing aside this unpleasant rumour, Adah added, “Rumors were that Vikram Bhatt had picked me up from a deaf school and gave me a role in his movie. Bollywood is not that pleasant also. I have hardly done a movie and I get to hear all this. ”

Talking about another such rumour, Adah said, “I heard that one day Vikram Bhatt had smashed a bottle on my head and I had to be rushed to the hospital. The best part is that it was rumored that I lost all my hair in that incident”.

Later, feeling hurt about such baseless rumours, Adah added, “I don’t want to clarify anything. I want to concentrate on better things in life, and most important of all; my career”.

Well, there is yet another aspect of Adah’s personality which is yet unknown. The gorgeous lady has really crazy desires.

“Whenever I watch the performers in circus I feel like aping them. Once when I saw a man climbing a coconut tree I felt that even I should learn the same.

Since my childhood I had a desire to write with both my right and left hand and I am practicing it since 6-7 months. I hope within next 2-3 weeks my desire is fulfilled,” speaks Adah Sharma.

Lara Dutta’s international look in ‘Blue’

The looks and glances of forthcoming ‘Blue’ are out and what really made our eyes widen was Lara Dutta’s stunning new international look in the film. There is no denying the fact that Lara is no conventional Indian beauty, but the way this film has done justice to her beauty is simply commendable.

Revealing about her looks in the film, Lara says, “The film required a make up artist who could handle make up for under water sequences as well as special effects for the action sequences and give the character an glamorous beach babe look, that was also very natural looking.

Nikoletta Skarlatos, who has worked on ‘Transformers’ as well as ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’, came very highly recommended by the International action team. She and Clarabelle Saldhana have put the whole look together for make-up and hair. They have done an amazing job and I am extremely thrilled with the results”.

Priyanka Went Through Weight Losing Exercise

Priyanka Chopra had to otherwise remain a bit competitive with her co actresses Kangana Ranaut and Mughda Godse due to their slimness in order to act in Madhur Bandarkar’s film ‘Fashion’. She was asked to lose 8 kgs however she managed to lose only 4 Kgs so far. And it equally was demand of the movie as Priyanka is playing the role of the model who is suffering from anorexia in which a person loses appetite and shed weight.

Kareena Kapoor dubs for ‘Roadside Romeo’

Monday, September 29, 2008

If Saif Ali Khan dubs the male lead of the animation film ‘Roadside Romeo’, who else could be a better choice for the female counterpart than his true passion, Kareena Kapoor. Yes, Kareena has recently completed dubbing for this film by Yashraj Studios. Kareena really enjoyed giving various sounds for her animated character in the film. The film will be the directorial debut of child artist-turned-hero Jugal Hansraj.

Kareena made sincere efforts to give in her best. She heard the story and took time in understanding the character she had to dub for. She even saw Kung Fu Panda for which Angelina Jolie dubbed for.

Says Kareena, “It was fun dubbing for Road Side Romeo. It’s the first time ever an actress has dubbed for an animation film and since it was a first of sorts, it was particularly challenging.”

With beau Saif being on the other end, fun was sure to flow in. Any doubts?
